A practical introduction to animal husbandry for young people. Help to feed and care for some of the animals on the farm with farm staff and volunteers. This session will get you a bit closer to the farm animals and is a chance to get stuck in and have a go at some of the animal care tasks around the farm. A good taster if you are interested in joining our regular young city farmers activities or looking at a career in animal care. This is a practical activity and will include feeding, mucking out and other routine care of the farm animals as well as maintaining housing, animal handling and learning about the different needs and requirements of the animals.
You will need to come to the farm prepared to be outside in all weathers, get dirty and take part in physical activity and to care for all the species of animal on the farm.
Please send us an email with your name and age to confirm your attendance or drop in to the farm in the morning between 10 and 10.15 and get signed up.
All young people taking part in the Farm activities programmes must complete a registration form which can be downloaded here.
